
Newly released is Volume 6 of the scientific series “bfu Safety Dossiers”. With this type of publication, the Road Safety Fund and bfu – Swiss Council for Accident Prevention provide, in a concise form, the necessary knowledge for making informed plans for safety measures; this can be used by specialists working in the area of prevention of road traffic accidents.
The safety dossier “Speed as a Factor in Motorised Road Traffic” shows which measures are necessary for a potentially successful accident prevention strategy. Such measures include, among others, the intensification of stationary police controls, the promotion of selected driver assistance systems, forgiving roads in rural areas and the widespread introduction of the bfu-model Tempo 50/30.
